Nina Pope

UK artist / film-maker Nina Pope (b 1968) works in collaboration with Karen Guthrie (b 1970) they live and work in London and Cumbria respectively. After studying together at Edinburgh College of Art they completed their studies in London before beginning their career as collaborative artists in 1995. They launched their multi-disciplinary company Somewhere in 2002, and have since led diverse creative projects with an emphasis on new audiences and innovative technology. They have been commissioned by and exhibited at many high-profile venues including the ICA (where they received a 1999 Imaginaria Digital Art Prize) and Tate Modern.

In 2008 they were awarded the first Northern Arts Prize for work developed with Grizedale Arts in Toge, Japan.

Most recently they have completed their second feature film - Living with the Tudors - which was selected for the prestigious BritDoc Film Festival and then premiered in the US at the noted SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. This film built on the success of their first feature documentary - Bata-ville: We are not afraid of the future - which continues to screen internationally.
